Improve Your Life With These Podcasts!

You had a great night’s sleep, the alarm goes off and you realize you have a one hour commute to work ahead of you. There’s only so many times you can listen to the top 40 songs playing on the radio every hour (Justin Bieber seems to average 2 and hour on every radio station including Triple J…!) and you don’t want to pay premium price for Spotify so you’ve played your music playlist’s to near death...!

So, here at Sleepy Panda, we’ve compiled a list of our favourite podcasts to make your daily commute go faster, improve your life and, quite simply, make the journey more interesting!

Enjoy!

Tim Ferris – The guru of the world-renowned four hour-work-week. He was originally a Princeton Graduate who created an online product called BrainQUICKEN at the age of 24 and was making several thousand dollars a week profit from the site. But the long hours killed him and he realised by outsourcing he could cut back on hours and still make the same amount of money. His podcasts are with interesting people such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Vince Vaughn, Tony Robbins, Peter Thiel and Jamie Foxx….Essentially he’s the Oprah of the Podcast

NPR – Based in the United States. They cover almost every topic (Technology, Arts, Business, Comedy, Health Television and Film, Science and Medicine, etc, etc, etc) A must if you have an hour to kill and want to have great conversations at dinner parties! We highly recommend the TED Radio Hour. Why? This link shows why!

Nerdist Podcast – Hosted by Chris Hardwick. They interview the most interesting people in entertainment such as Will Ferrell, James Corden, Guy Ritchie, Dax Shepard, Danny Boyle, Keanu Reeves, Jeremy Irons, Dakota Fanning, Anna Kendrick, Jake Gyllenhaal and 100+ other celebrities!

The College Dropout Podcast – Hosted by Cierra Seay. Want Inspiration, Empowerment or Mentoring? Then this is the podcast for you! She interviews College Dropouts who have built several million dollar empires by the age of 30.

Freakonomics – Hosted by the Freakonomics Authors Steve Levitt and Stephen. J. Dubner. Most recent podcasts – Why Hate the Koch Brothers?, Are The Rich Less Generous Than the Poor, and How Stupid Is Our Obsession With Lawns?….!

This American Life – Each podcast episode is downloaded by over 2.5 million people which explains why this podcast is a must! Topics are various and range from whether or not we are alone in the universe through to the current Refugee Crisis occurring in Europe

Radiolab – Hosted by Jad Abumrad and Robert Krulwich. Pretty much explores various topics in a simple and accessible form. Want to know what microbiome science is, whether democracy is actually a ‘trapdoor to anarchy’, how Bernie Madoff orchestrated his Ponzi Scheme or whether it’s nature or nurture that shapes us? These are among some of the subject matters they discuss. Another great podcast for interesting conversation with others.

Casefile – This podcast is a bit on the dark side, but if you don’t want unwanted guests driving in the car with you on a regular basis than playing this should help. Discusses various famous crimes and serial killer cases from The Moors Murders, The Port Arthur Massacre, The Yorkshire Ripper and Peter Falconio among the most notable crimes.
